I was born in Arkansas into a wonderful Christian family and asked Jesus into my life at about age 10 shortly before moving to Iowa. About 8 years later, this relationship with Jesus became so very, very real to me while on a retreat with Cru (then called Campus Crusade) where we studied Roman 6-8. At that point, it all became totally my belief, not just what my father believed & taught.

I was born in a small farming town in Iowa, growing up on a farm with parents who took us to church every Sunday. I knew all about Jesus but had never known I could have a personal relationship with him. I accepted Christ into my heart when I was 19. I really did not come alive, so to speak, until we got involved in starting a church in our small town. Since then I am learning more all the time about what Jesus means to me.
We met…
…in grade school and “fell in love” in junior high, marrying at age 20. Over the years we served in many capacities in the churches we attended, to include men’s, women’s & youth ministries, missions, and more. We both always felt a God-given draw to hospitality, and enjoyed serving in this capacity on many occasions in our home and in church activities.
We came to CCF in the summer of 2011 after serving two 6-months periods working along side our son and his wife in England. They started a Calvary Chapel there in her home town, and we spent our months building out and opening a church coffee shop on High Street. We totally loved the work … the hands-on building it out, as well as opening and serving the community and the church people. Shortly after arriving at CCF, we noticed the coffee cart and offered to help out. That led to our present involvement in the Taste and See Coffee Shop, and we love how God has grown this ministry! It is a natural “fit” for us with our desire to serve in the hospitality ministry and use our God-given gifts in that regard.
