Question of the Week: Why should Christians care about biblical prophecy?
Verses: Matthew 24:36, Isaiah 14:24

A prophetic eye is an eye on the sky. Every single Christian who invests themselves in understanding and celebrating biblical prophecy will know the following three truths.
1. What God’s promises are. This is not just limited to salvation. Knowing even the promises we wish weren’t the case will make sure we’re not caught off guard when life gets rocky.
2. What promises God has kept. If God has kept promises before, we have that many more reasons to trust He’ll keep the ones we haven’t yet seen fulfilled.
3. What promises God has yet to keep. Knowing what we have to look forward to will make even the most difficult journey worthwhile because you know the destination will be worth the grief it took to get there.

Question of the Week: Who created God?
The person who asks the question, “Who created God” first needs to understand what God is. God is the being outside of time and space who has always existed and is the source of life and meaning. With that clarified, who then created God? No one. God by definition isn’t created, and therefore didn’t have a Creator. The reason people ask this question is because everything they observe in God’s creation had a beginning, and then assume the Creator has to follow the same rules. The Laws of Thermodynamics demonstrate that everything that began to exist needed a cause. Since the Universe began to exist, the Universe needed a cause. This cause would need to be what we define as God. Timeless (Since He existed before time began), Spaceless (Since He existed before space was formed), Personal (Since He consciously chose to make this Universe), and Powerful (Capable of causing an effect as massive as the Universe). Instead of science disproving the need of a Creator, the scientific laws of this universe demonstrate our need for Him.

Question of the Week: Did Jesus pray like a Muslim?
Verses: Mark 1:35, Mark 14:23, Luke 6:12, and Matthew 26:39
No. In fact, every verse they will use to try to prove He set this example also includes Jesus making claims that contradict the core claims of Islam. The next time a Muslim copies and pastes a poorly researched claim against Christianity, you can respond by copying and pasting a well thought through response to their claim by David Wood.

You’ve never seen a Christian praying on his face because Jesus commanded his followers: “When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you” (Matthew 6:5-6). Notice that this is the same book you just cited to show that Jesus prayed like Muslims! Muslims pray in the open so that you may be seen by men. Jesus condemns your prayers! Jesus also said, in the same book you cited: “And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words” (Matthew 6:7). What do Muslims do when they pray? They recite memorized prayers in a language most of them don’t understand! Even more hilarious, the exact verse you cited condemns you. Matthew 26:39 reads: “And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, ‘My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.'” Jesus calls God “My Father”! According to the Qur’an (9:30), Jesus is not the Son of God. Indeed, the Qur’an declares that Allah is a father to no one (see 5:18; 19:88-93; and 21:26). So if we believe the verse you cited, Islam is false! Beyond this, Jesus prayed in different positions. John 17:1 states: “Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, ‘Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You.'” Jesus prayed while looking up to heaven. I’ve never seen a Muslim pray like this! Notice also, once again, that Jesus calls God “Father,” and declares himself to be the “Son.” So, your “proof” of Islam is something that thoroughly contradicts Islam! Thank you for proving, based on the teachings of Jesus, that Muhammad was a false prophet.

Question of the Week: What order is the Bible set in?
Verses: Luke 1:1-5, Genesis 2:4

The Bible is set into 3 categories for both the Old and New Testament. The first section is history, which focuses on the events that took place in history. The Old Testament historical section is Genesis through Esther. The New Testament history is Matthew through Acts. The second section is Poetry, where historical facts are still recorded, but the focus is on the individual perspectives of the people who lived through them. The Old Testament Poetry is Job through Song of Solomon, and The New Testament is Romans through Jude. The final section is Prophecy, where God’s perspective is emphasized more than any other. The Old Testament prophetic section is Isaiah through Malachi, and The New Testament book of prophecy is Revelation.
