Question of the Week: What does it mean to surrender to God?
Verses: Romans 12:1-3
When the hymns have us sing, “I surrender all,” they make liars of us all. In a practical sense, we will never be able to fully surrender ourselves fully to God. Fortunately, that’s not what God has called us to do in this life. While we will be learning from experience how to trust God more and more, surrendering to God in a personal sense is how that happens. If you begin your day setting aside your desires in favor of His, it’s that kind of heart that He can use. That’s what it means to surrender to God in a biblical sense. If God’s a greater priority to you, then exchanging His will for your own comes naturally.
