Discipline’s Direction
When going through trials it can feel as if God is far away. But this passage tells us something quite different. God is a Father, and as children of our heavenly Father, He is invested in making us holy. Persecution and trials in the Christian life are to be looked at as God’s way of correcting us from gripping to closely onto things of this world. God has a future and hope for us, as He showed us in the death and ressurection of Jesus.
1. God is our Father.
2. When we are going through trials, we should view it as God’s loving correction.
3. We have great hope because of trials in our lives.
4. It means we are children of God.
5. We will be made holy through the trial.
